These teachings conflicted with the consistent witness of ancient scriptures, including Jacob 2 in the Book of Mormon. God has never approved of plural marriage or multiple wives; such practices are sinful, as demonstrated even by King David in the Bible. Plural marriage was one of the early signs that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had gone astray. This correction restores the scripture so that it aligns perfectly with God’s unchanging word.
