The Book of Commandments Section 14 - Authority
1Hearken mine children, even the Saints of my church; the Priests, after the Order of Jesus Christ have much to share with you for the direction and welfare of my church, which is the True Church of Jesus Christ.
2Ye who follow me; all who call yourselves Christians, even all who love me, shall heed their words and follow their instructions which are from me, even Jesus Christ.
3Priests of my church, do not delay in this task wherewith I have appointed you. Do not make haste, lest you err, but do all things in order and in care.
4Blessings are to be poured out upon all the faithful who obey my commands and who love me. Blessings for which there shall not be room enough to receive. But I warn you to heed these words, lest I smite you with the rod of my mouth.
5Take care, my children. Take heed and gird up thy loins. This power and authority have been given by me, to the Holy Priesthood, contingent upon their humility, diligence, and faithfulness which they offer before me.
6To the Churches of the World, who have had my authority thus far, I am not well pleased in your efforts. Though you spread the gospel, you have not received my testimony in its' fullness. Though you spread the message of my atonement, you have not maintained the sanctity and virtue of the priesthoods.
7Yea, Thus Sayeth the Lord, to the churches; your gifts are now sealed and your works shall be judged when we meet at the veil. Watch yourselves, lest the adversary tempt you to covet power and glory which does not belong to you, but to me.
8The fulness of the authority of The Holy, or High, Priesthood, after the Order of the Son of God, is now passed to The True Church of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God.
9This is a solemn proclamation which I give to you all by the mouths of my priests. You must repent and follow me, on the path of righteousness and purity, sanctifying yourselves before me.
10I the Lord love my children and those whom I love I will purge and chasten at my will, for mine own purpose.
11Behold, I AM he who created the heavens and the earth, the Alpha and the Omega, even Jesus Christ. My word shall not return void and shall cut asunder all who disobey.
12Be strong, be chaste. Love your brothers and sisters as yourselves and do good. Even so, amen.
