The Book of Commandments
The Book of Commandments Section 20 - The Children
The children of the world are the light of the gospel. Within them lie the keys to salvation. Children have the countenance of angels, and their fairness speaks of their Heavenly Father.
Within the soul of a child is hope. The hope of life everlasting. Within a child lies the entirety of the gospel; even my gospel, which is the gospel of repentance and of baptism for the remission of sins for all mankind.
Behold! Repent and become like the little children who are full of grace and truth - the grace and truth that belongs to all who can hear and see. Behold! The simplicity of my gospel, which is to love one another, to care for each other, and repent for the sins you have gathered while in the world.
My children. You have forgotten just who you are. This world is created for you so as to prove you and try you, but you have lost yourselves to it. But be of good cheer my sons and daughters. I have not forsaken you, nay I have promised away back home unto your Father in Heaven who awaits your return with the love only a father can have.
Behold. Watch the grace and truth of a child for this is the gift I offer you in return for sincere repentance in my name , which is the only name given under the heavens whereby man can be saved, even Jesus Christ.
Become like little children. Forsake the evil, the chaff and the dark deeds of the world so you may see that there is a better way. Cast aside your nets and follow me. Follow my servants who expound and teach my word in earnest. Ask questions. Learn of me. Become now and again children of the most high God who is the God of Heaven and Earth and all things therein.
Read your scriptures my children. Open your eyes to the world around you and see it for the soil which it is and nothing more. Behold the majesty of my creation which is but the stage set for the forthcoming eternity which lies before you all.
Turn unto me and forsake all the world, casting aside your snares, your traps and your schemes for the simple path which lies before you. Know that I shall be in your midst and I shall go before you, ever guiding and caring for you. Cast aside your cunning and your deceiving for honesty, purity and love for your fellow man and I shall feed you as a shepherd feeds his flock - no more and no less. I shall prove you and chastise you, I will comfort you and teach you. Walls will come up when there were no walls and walls shall tumble when all seems lost. The way will become clear before you as you follow me.
And then, like little children, you will be born again as you are found under my wing and in my charge. I will not forsake you. Hear my voice, for I have written it on all of your hearts.
Be at peace, my children, for I have come to take you home.
