The Book of Commandments Section 28 - The Guns
1Write of the guns.
2Thus Sayeth the Lord. My kingdom is a kingdom of peace and shall be henceforth a place of rest and of growth. My saints shall lay down their arms and take up their cross, in my name, for to raise the standard of peace and good will among their fellow man.
3Thus Sayeth the Lord; hear the words of my servant, who speaks for me and of me in all things - lay down your guns. Lay down your arms and beat your spears into pruning hooks, for a great pruning has now begun in my vineyard, even a great recompense and a reclaiming of Zion.
4Hear ye, my Saints; I will that you shall take up your cross and defend your homes with your faith and your good works. Stand strong, my Saints, in the calling wherewith you have been blessed, which is to build up my great city among the hills, for a beacon of righteousness that shall spread good tidings and joy throughout the earth.
5You are the House of Israel, my dear Saints, to be guided by my servants; my priests.
6Behold! A great work shall now commence. Be strong in your faith and your righteousness, bearing all things which shall befall you in humility and meekness.
7Be kind to each other. Help those in need and be perfect in all things. Keep your wits about you and gird up your loins, as I commanded my servant Job. The time for weakness is at an end.
8Yea, I have spoken. Amen.
