The Book of Commandments Section 32 - Foundation
1Thus Sayeth the Lord; I AM the foundation of the world. I have created the Heavens and the earth and all things therein, for the children of eternity to learn and grow. I have created the good and the evil, for guidance and trials. The light and the darkness for faith and hope.
2The foundation of the world is built upon my ordinances and my word. The principles of salvation have been the same since the beginning; love one another, do good and learn how to become sons and daughters of the most high God.
3The world will change and it will always be challenging, but the foundation shall never waver, for all things are built on my word. Yea, the world shall not fail until I return and the heavens are wrapt as a scroll.
4The forces of darkness, even the destroyer and the deceiver are tools of my creation designed to guide my children back unto my presence. These forces must needs exist so as to be a warning of even more terrible forces that threaten to consume your very souls.
5These forces of the world shall flow unceasingly within the bounds I have set for them, and in accordance with my law and my word. They obey my law and shall not harm those who follow me. Yea, the winds shall blow, the storms shall surge, the heavens will rain and the sun shall scorch, but my faithful children shall escape all evil in my name, under the shadow of my wing.
6For I AM the Lord, the creator of the heavens and the earth. I AM the same from the beginning; even He who led my children out of Egypt, and into the wilderness of Sin, to be tried for their character and devotion in all things whatsoever I commanded them.
7I guide my chosen Saints in all things. I guide my children always. The great foundation of the world, even the foundation of existence itself is the Lord, who AM I, Jesus Christ.
8This great and simple lesson was given to many who have accepted it in its simplicity and its beauty. My servant Peter, who walked upon the sea in my name, knew the truth when asked who AM I; even Jesus, The Christ, creator of the heavens and the earth. The great revelation contained in the gospel is the foundation upon which I shall build my church. It is the foundation upon which all shall be saved.
9Thus Sayeth the Lord; all things are under my dominion. My word shall roll forth as a two-edged sword, piercing to the soul, dividing asunder the joints and the marrow. The foundation of my creation is maintained and built upon simple but unyielding principles, guided and judged by the power given to the Holy Priesthood.
10And for this reason, I the Lord am not well pleased. For many times have I restored my great and noble priesthood to the earth. And it has fallen away time and time again.
11But I the Lord do never waver in my calling and my charge to raise up unto me a perfect and noble people, even a great and chaste priesthood, who choose to obey the ordinances and the guidance of the Lord in all things. For my house is a house of order, built upon the noble celestial principles ordained and set forth in the councils of the heavens, at the foundation of the world.
12How far must ye fall, my children? How low must ye become before you see what you have lost!
13Thus Sayeth the Lord; I have set my hand to restore the Holy Priesthood upon the earth one last time. It is a perfect and righteous order and can only be handled by men who have separated themselves from the world altogether, casting off the sins and the mistakes, the lusts and the vanities of their forefathers. My Holy Priesthood shall only be, nay can only be maintained and upheld upon the principles of faithfulness, righteousness and holiness unto the Lord.
14The salvation of all men; even all children of the most high God, rests upon the shoulders of my High Priests, who are commanded to perform the ordinances of salvation for the sanctification, guidance and wisdom of all mankind.
15The priesthood ordinances hold the keys of handling the powers of the heavens and of the eternities on the earth. Ye cannot begin to comprehend the forces at work, continually wrestling to consume your very souls with utter destruction, my children.
16The High Priesthood, after the Order of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, is blessed with the keys of authority to perform these ordinances which shall be revealed unto my High Priests, who shall be given all ordinances for the welfare and safety of my children, even the ordinances to be performed in my name for the establishment of my Church, for the salvation of Zion and for the sanctification of the Earth, in preparation for my coming, in the great and last day.
17Thus Sayeth the Lord; The True Church of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, shall maintain, protect and uphold the Holy Priesthood and shall never fail in their charge hereunto set forth in my word. For my word is the foundation of creation and existence itself.
18Be one, my children. Be chaste. Repent for your sins and return unto my presence. As the days roll forth, you shall see that my power rests within my priesthood, under the care and diligence of my faithful servants. All who seek me shall find the priesthood, for my sheep shall hear my voice and they shall be guided by my hand.
