True Church Academy
A strong beginning for the early years
Little Lambs is the first school of True Church Academy, serving children from Pre-K and Kindergarten Foundations through Grade 3. You teach the lessons at home, using the course reader as your guide. Most of the real learning happens away from the screen with Scripture, books, pencils, counters, music, movement, nature, ordinary household work, and plenty of conversation.
These years should still feel like childhood. Children need good stories, clear teaching, useful repetition, time outside, beautiful things to notice, and room to grow. Little Lambs gives you a clear path without trying to turn your home into a miniature school building.
How it works
Use the lesson, then get away from the screen
The reader tells you what to prepare, what to teach, and what to practice. Then you can close the screen and do the work together.
A Scripture lesson may mean reading a passage and talking about what happened. Mathematics may use counters, coins, clocks, paper, or measurements from around the house. Nature study may send you outside. Language arts may combine reading, spelling, handwriting, narration, and a short piece of writing. The subjects are different, so the lessons are different too.

Scripture
Keep the Holy Scriptures close
Holy Scripture has its own course in Grades 1, 2, and 3, and Scripture is also part of Foundations. Children hear the text, tell what they remember, learn important names and events, use maps and timelines when they help, and go back to the passage when they are unsure.
Jesus Christ is taught plainly and reverently. Mathematics and grammar do not need an unrelated Bible verse attached to every lesson. Christian education is also found in honesty, careful work, gratitude, stewardship, order, and learning to see the world truthfully.
Assessment
You probably already have a good sense of how your child is doing
You probably have a good idea of how your child reads, what kinds of math feel easy or difficult, how clearly they explain what they have learned, and where they still need help. Little Lambs uses that everyday knowledge instead of burying young children in constant tests.
Parent checks and review lessons give you a clearer look when you need one. If your child keeps making the same mistake, go back to that skill and practice it in a simpler way. If the work is comfortable and accurate, keep moving.
Course length
Clear enough to plan, flexible enough for family life
Foundations has 130 short lessons across 26 weeks. Language Arts and Mathematics each have 28 substantial lesson plans per grade, with several short work periods built into many plans. The other five Grade 1 through Grade 3 courses each contain 12 substantial lessons.
You can see where each course begins and ends without pretending every family needs to move at exactly the same speed.
Open to families
